On This Day Forwards “in Response“’s last track a homeless guy tells the band that they should “play their asses off” no matter how many people are in the audience. I saw Finding Faith a while ago live, and they are a band that really does just that: play their asses off.
Finding Faith are a 5 piece from Illingen/Saar, Germany and started out in 2008. Their 7- song melodic hardcore demo came out in April 2009 and starts with a rainy intro, which leads into the first song “set it straight”. That song already pretty much combines all the strengths of the band which can be found in all songs of the demo, the singers voice changes between screaming and singing (no, not like screamo/emo bands), nice breaks, nice guitar melodies (even better in the third song “in loving memory”) and really great sing-a-long parts (for example in the last song “falling down”), which will surely soon be highlights of every show.
Even though it is only their first demo the sound is better than expected and the music is really fresh and energetic. You can really compare them to bands such as With Honor, a great melange of faster melodic punk and heavier hardcore parts.
Sure, not everything is perfect yet, but hey, its only a demo, and with a label and some more experience something amazing can happen here…
